During Caliper development I built lots of different “Mules” to test out some of my ideas for controller design.

Building mechanically functional but electrically inert mules is great for initial testing of handfit and input feel as triggers, buttons, joysticks and adjustments all work allowing “hands-on” testing.

This allows rapid iteration to tackle ergonomics and packaging problems before facing the increased costs of building a fully working prototype.

There were many mules over many months, here are a few of them…
